William “Gib” Portwood brings 15+ years’ experience within the financial services industry to the team at Bridgeway Wealth Partners in New York City, NY. His sophisticated planning and investment strategies result in clear and focused methodology when developing customized plans for his clients. Gib pays particular attention to the specific needs of the client, coupled with their tax environment and cash flow requirements.
In addition, Gib has a broad knowledge and creative approach to advising in family offices, institutions, entrepreneurs, foundations, and businesses on investment and financial matters.
Prior to joining Bridgeway, Gib most recently worked for Oppenheimer specializing in business continuation and family estate planning strategies. He also gained experience from Wells Fargo where he was responsible for growing, coaching, and mentoring a retail bank sales force.
Gib graduated from The United States Military Academy in West Point, NY with a Bachelor’s of Science in Management (Systems Engineering). He was a 3-Year Varsity Letterman for Water Polo and a 1-Year Varsity Letterman for Swimming. After graduation, Gib went on to serve 7 years active duty for The United States Army experiencing multiple domestic and international deployments with various leadership and management positions as an Aviation Officer. Gib received his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a specialization in Investments from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. Gib currently lives in Texas with his wife and two sons.
With over 35 years experience as a Financial Advisor, Mr. Greengrass’ clientele have included the largest money management firms, private equity funds, hedge funds, family offices as well as high net worth individuals. His clients are located all around the world.
Mr. Greengrass uses fundamental as well as technical analysis in crafting portfolios to meet the various needs of his diverse client base. He currently manages in excess of $500 million. Prior to joining Bridgeway, Barney spent over 7 years at JP Morgan Securities. Before JPM he spent over 25 years at Morgan Stanley, Smith Barney and their predecessor firms.
Mr. Greengrass was a member of Smith Barney’s Directors Council for over 15 years – a designation for the firms top 5% of advisors measured by production and assets under management. Barney has spent his whole life in New York City graduating in 1979 from NYU School of Business and Public Administration with a BS in Accounting. He is the proud father of 3 children….Max,Natalie and Henry.
